Please read the following and then fill in the form below to signify your
agreement. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to complete the
form on your behalf.

1. Introduction
This disclaimer notice applies to each meet, hound exercise and/or event run by
the STAFF COLLEGE DRAGHOUNDS (“SCDH”). By attending or participating in
any meet, hound exercise and / or event, I acknowledge that draghunting and
equestrian activities are high risk sports and I agree to be bound by this
disclaimer notice (as set out below).

2. Attending and / or participating in meets, hound exercises and / or
events
IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ
I accept that it is a condition of my participating in meets, hound exercises and /
or events with the SCDH that:

2.1. I will comply with any notices, warnings or instructions that are
displayed or given to me by the Directors, Mastership, Fieldmasters,
draghound officials, draghound employees, draghound volunteers or
landowners, or can be found on the pages of the SCDH website
(https://www.staffcollegedraghounds.co.uk) in particular the section “About
Draghunting”. Please ask our staff if you have any issues or questions;
2.2. I accept that decisions made by the Mastership are final;
2.3. I am responsible for my horse, personal equipment and property that
I use during meets, hound exercises and / or events and I will ensure that
my horse and any such equipment or property is in good working order,
has been properly maintained and is used safely;
2.4. I am fit to participate and / or attend the meet, hound exercise and /
or event;
2.5. I am covered for personal and third-party claims by a reputable
insurance company that specifically covers the sport of hunting or any
other equestrian events that I take part in with the SCDH;
2.6. I will not take unnecessary risks and will act and ride in a safe and
sensible manner ensuring I make decisions for the safety of myself and
others. I will follow the route taken by the Fieldmaster at all times;
2.7. I will not consume alcohol to excess such that it impairs my ability to
act safely or make safe decisions. If driving home, I will remain below the
legal driving limit and not put myself or others in danger;

2.8. I understand and acknowledge that draghunting takes place on both
public and private land and that riders and non-riders of all ages may be
present. I will conduct myself in an appropriately respectful manner and
will refrain from the use of profanity, gossip or unkind remarks;
2.9. I have read and agree to abide by the SCDH etiquette guidelines
(click to read).

3. What we are each responsible for?
IMPORTANT – PLEASE READ

 

3.1. In the absence of any negligence or other breach of duty by SCDH:

 

3.1.1. Attending or participating in a meet, hound exercise and / or event is
entirely at my own risk;
3.1.2. Use of any horse, equipment or property is entirely at my own risk;
3.1.3. SCDH are not responsible or liable for any theft, damage,
destruction or loss of my horse, equipment, property or possessions at
a meet, hound exercise and / or event (including on our premises or
on the premises of any landowner);
3.1.4. I will be liable for any damage or loss caused by me.
3.1.5. I will not hold the SCDH, its Directors, its members, its Mastership,
draghound officials, draghound employees, draghound volunteers or
landowners responsible for injury, death, damage or consequential
financial loss to horse and/or rider or damage to any vehicle or any of
my property howsoever caused.
3.1.6. In regard to any incident or action in any way related to me or the
horse I may be riding, I agree to indemnify and save harmless the
SCDH, its directors, its members, its Mastership, draghound officials,
draghound employees or landowners against any claim whatsoever or
by whomsoever made.

3.2. The Masters reserve the right to refuse to allow any rider and/or
horse to draghunt and or participate in an event with SCDH.

4. Medically fit to participate

 

4.1. Draghunting and equestrian activities are potentially demanding and
physical activities. There are risks associated with meets, hound exercises
and / or events that the SCDH cannot fully remove or mitigate. I
acknowledge that it is my responsibility to ensure that I am fully aware of
the associated risks of participating in draghunting, hound exercises and /
or events.
4.2. The SCDH are not qualified to express an opinion confirming that I
am fit to participate or attend a meet, hound exercise and / or event
therefore I must ensure that I am fit to participate or attend.

5. Right to record the meet, hound exercise and / or event and use
personal data

5.1. During the meet, hound exercise and / or event, filming, photography
and broadcasting may take place, which may capture or record me in

images and/or recordings. For information about how my personal
information will be used, I can find the information in the SCDH Privacy
Notice.
5.2. By attending or participating in the meet, hound exercise and / or
event, I grant permission for SCDH to record and use my voice, image
and likeness captured by any means (including using mobile devices,
telephones and cameras) during, at or around the meet, hound exercise
and / or event (including on our premises or on the premises of any
landowner). This may be used in photographic images and/or films and for
advertising SCDH events.
5.3. If I am a parent of, guardian of or responsible adult of a person
under 18 years of age on the date of any meet, hound exercise and / or
event, I agree to the recording and use for the purposes set out in the
above paragraph on behalf of that person who is under 18.
5.4. The personal information I have provided in any subscription and / or
meet, hound exercise and / or event booking (for myself and for any
minor) will only be held and used in accordance with the SCDH Privacy
Notice. I have read this notice as it includes important information, and I
understand that my consent is not needed when my personal data is
processed for the purposes set out in the SCDH Privacy Notice.

6. Attendance by minors

6.1. If I am the parent of, guardian of or responsible adult of a person
under 18, I agree to be responsible for their compliance with this
disclaimer notice.

 

7. Governing law and jurisdiction

7.1. The laws of England and Wales apply to this disclaimer.
7.2. Any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the
courts of England and Wales.

8. Before I have signed / agreed to this disclaimer notice, I have read and
understood the above statement in full. If there is any term in this disclaimer
notice that has not been clear to me or I have not understood, I have had the
opportunity to seek legal advice, speak to a SCDH official, or contact the

9. By submitting this Disclaimer form below, I confirm that I have understood and
will comply with its conditions.
